Ida Engvoll (The Bridge) stars as Rebecka Martinsson, an unconventional lawyer in Stockholm with a successful career and a handsome boyfriend. Rebecka Martinsson is one of the best new shows in Sweden, which has recently become known for its suddenly realistic crime dramas, often featuring very strong women. The play is in Swedish with English subtitles. Martins (Ida Engvoll) is a successful lawyer in Stockholm. She has tried to leave her hometown of kulavala in the past, but a recent violent death in the town forced her to confront what she thought she had left. Is there more going on in this town than meets the eye? Is rebeca ready to reveal the secret?
Blue tones and natural light throughout the collection, you can almost feel the chill of the surrounding air. This type of performance has a good atmosphere. The show is based on four crime novels by asa larson. The first season seems to be made up of multiple books rather than one continuous plot, and you can basically see four movies with some of the main character stories.

Released on DVD by Acorn Media, the first season of Rebecka Martinsson is the latest atmospheric and melancholy mystery from Scandinavia. There’s a reason it’s called a Nordic noir, and not just because the nights get longer when you’re near the Arctic Circle, but because these shows tend to have plot twists that others tend to avoid. Whether it’s the story of a particularly brutal serial killer or a deep dive into a character’s psyche, this genre tends to be darker and more introspective than your standard suspense series.
The play begins with Rebecka Martinsson (Ida Engvoll), a successful corporate lawyer in Stockholm. When we get to her story, she’s just become a partner in the company. Halfway through the celebration, however, she received a call from her hometown, where a close family friend had just died. She immediately dropped everything and jumped on the plane.
Of course, she found out more than she expected. First, she finds out that her old friend, a woman who helped raise her, died when both her parents died, not unexpectedly, as initially thought, but actually murdered. At the beginning of the first two episodes, we get to know not only martinson, but also the environment and characters she grew up in.
When the first investigation ended in tragedy, Ms. Martinson decided to delay rejoining her Stockholm office and remain in the north, working for the district’s prosecutors. However, the cases didn’t get any easier, and she had to deal with her personal history and the baggage that came with it in the three-part, two-part series.
I know some people hate subtitles, but the show is so good that whatever effort it takes to keep the audience going is worth it. When subtitles are well done, as they are here, you won’t even notice that you’re reading after a short period of time. Nor do they diminish the character’s emotional depth. Actors use their voices to convey their feelings, and subtitles are words — all seamlessly combined
