Shameless, Season 8 DVD
Editorial Reviews
This is probably the best series I have ever seen, in spite of the profanity, etc. The story line is fantastic, and is actually very true to many lives. There are so many emotions that are brought out in the series. The struggles are real, The successes, and the failures are real. It is funny, it is sad, it is so many things. I have recommended to only a few people who I thought would enjoy it. One did not at all because of the sex and profanity. I was surprised that was her attitude. The other loved the show instantly just as I did. So, it may not be for everyone, but it is certainly for me. I am so glad season 8 is here! Just finished the 1st episode. Can’t wait for the second. But, have no choice! have to wait! But, sometimes anticipation is the best part. Thank you for season 8!

Not That Bad
OK, so maybe the season was a little weak. But the other reviewers on this site have gone overboard with the negativity. The characters have not changed. They’ve simply grown and evolved a little with time. Many good plot-lines were explored in season 8.
**SPOILER ALERT ! ** Frank tries to live the respectable life, but this time the world fails him rather than he failing the world. Lip manages to go an entire season sober and help a lot of people. Ian goes bug-eyed fanatical with the ‘gay rights’ meme. Carl gets controlled by his nutzo girlfriend. Liam gets several shades darker than he’s ever been in earlier years. Fiona becomes a ruthless slumlord, Debbie becomes a skilled welder although I’m surprised by how an accident with life-long disfigurement consequences is so easily dismissed as trivial by the family. Professor Yuens goes to prison for DUI and drops dead (probably what he wanted, any way). I really enjoyed the comedy of Kevin finding his long lost relatives in the Kentucky backwoods. His experiments in ‘domination’ over Veronica are hysterical; the safe word shall be “french fry”. And Svetlana continues to be a mixed curse and blessing – the latter because she’s the only one who can milk a profit out of The Alibi.
