Jennifer Morrison’s breakout role was Dr. Allison Cameron on Fox’s hit show House M.D., and after the show ended in 2012 and her character exited the series in 2009, Morrison went on to have a prolific film and television career. After a few roles in minor films and appearances in the television series Any Day Now and Dawson’s Creek, Morrison landed the role of Cameron in 2004, a young doctor whose honesty and idealism would often clash with the cynical Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie).

House, M.D. follows a team of doctors at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital who diagnose rare illnesses, and Cameron was part of the show’s original diagnostic team. Along with Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Foreman (Omar Epps), the inaugural team of doctors introduced audiences to House’s unconventional means, including breaking into patients’ homes and assuming that “everybody lies.” During Morrison’s eight-year stint on House, she managed to land roles that would help launch her film career. She appeared in the films Mall Cop and Mr. & Mrs. Smith and starred alongside Rob Schneider as Mindy in 2007’s Big Stan. In 2010, she landed the role of Zoey on How I Met Your Mother and appeared in the critically acclaimed 2011 sports drama Warrior alongside Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte.

Upon the completion of House in 2012, Morrison landed a role as Winona Kirk in the 2013 sci-fi adventure Star Trek Into Darkness directed by J.J. Abrams. Her intermittent appearances on How I Met Your Mother continued until the show concluded in 2014 before she went on to appear in a pair of horror films The Darkness and Amityville: The Awakening. She made her directorial debut in 2017 with the film Sun Dogs and joined the casts of the films Albion: The Enchanted Stallion, Alex & The List, and Back Roads. Morrison has a small role in Sam Levinson’s 2018 satirical action-comedy Assassination Nation about four teenagers on a rampage after the townpeople’s personal data leaks online.

In 2018, the hit ABC series Once Upon a Time came to an end after a seven-year run, where Morrison starred as Emma Swan since it launched in 2011. She then joined two star-studded casts in 2019, adding to her film credentials. Both inspired by real events, The Report and Bombshell included Morrison as a supporting player. Morrison can now be seen in the cast of the NBC hit show This Is Us with a recurring role as Cassidy Sharp.

As This Is Us gets ready for the season 5 release in September 2020, fans will be excited to see how her character unfolds further. Her role as Sharp is that of U.S. Marine veteran suffering with alcoholism as she struggles to adapt back into civilian life. Morrison also stars in the new television movie Under the Bridge as Caitlin Lancaster, a role that sees her return to the world of medicine explored in House, MD, as Morrison plays a surgeon who must confront the challenges of keeping her practice and marriage from falling apart after a scandal breaks out, which has since been completed.
