Fans have no shortage of source material for theories. Nor do they suffer a lack of enthusiasm for Tom Ellis. It seems no one is more thirsty than a Lucifer fan between seasons. Viewers shared their theories with each other about what the nesting season of the show would contain. No longer restrained by the standards and practices team of a major network Lucifer could get racier.

Tom Ellis dropped hints about appearing nude before the release of the 4th season. Fans didn’t have to wait long. Less than 10 minutes into the first episode viewers were treated to a long, hard look at Tom Elli’s bare backside. Couple that with same-sex kissing and orgies and you have an even sexier season of an already sexy show.

Yep: More Demons

Lucifer’s relationship with Maze is no longer a primary focus of the show. Lucifer is so deeply involved with Chloe and Dr. Linda that his demon bartender isn’t getting as much time with her boss. We still get to watch her grow and develop through her relationships with Dr. Linda and Amenadiel. SHe’s becoming more and more human with every day she spends on earth. Has the show lost some flavor with its only demon becoming soft?

Fans speculated that it was time for some fresh meat out of hell and they weren’t disappointed. Lucifer had forbidden Demons to take on new flesh and walk the earth. Eve knows they’re the only ones who can get their boss back downstairs. There was no way around it, the show had to have more beasts of the pit.

Yep: More Siblings

Lucifer referenced having other siblings aside from the brothers we’ve already met on the show. In “Boo Normal” we get the privilege of meeting another angel disguised as Ella’s ghost BFF. With mom banished to another dimension the celestial family on earth was getting a little bit small. Fans theorized that it might be time for a family reunion.

The show thrives on the drama a celestial family generates. Bringing in more relatives simply gave fans more of what works. Lucifer and Amenadiel aren’t the only children of God and the goddess. Why should they have all the fun on earth? Another angel sister arrives for one of the most awkward reunions on television.

Yep: Hella Ella

Season 3 gave fans something they longed for quite a while, an entire episode dedicated to Ella. Her optimistic outlook and dorky humor gained her a loyal following of fans. Everyone hoped season 4 would give her character space to develop. The writers didn’t disappoint. Not only do we get to know this dynamic character better, we see her framed as a surprising love interest.

Ella’s wide-eyed faith slowly morphed into a personal religious crisis from the beginning of the show to the end of season 3. The writers took season 4 as an opportunity to delve deeper into Ella’s doubts and questions. Allowing this supporting character room to breathe not only gives fans what they want but gives the show a little added richness.
