Political thriller Jack Ryan has taken television audiences by storm, and here are the series’ 10 best episodes so far according to IMDb.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski, is an Amazon original based on a series of books. As the title suggests, it features Jack Ryan as an up and coming CIA analyst, with a military background.
While his job is to sit behind a desk, he seems to have all the traits required for an on-field officer, and all of his talents come to the forefront when a terrorist organization threatens the safety of the world. Throughout the series’ two seasons so far, there have been a number of good episodes. So, without further ado, let’s rank some of the best of them according to IMDb.
“Dios Y Federación” (7.9)
The penultimate episode of season two sees many tense situations play out. Stranded in a country on the brink of war, Jack and Mike devise plans to escape it unscathed. In other news, Greer gets interrogated by one of Reyes’ men as he gets to know some unbelievable truths about Venezuela. Ubarri fears that he might have to flee the country.
“Persona Non-Grata” (8.0)
In the sixth episode of season two, Reyes plays his trump card as he accuses the US Embassy of tampering with the Venezuela elections. Jack, Greer, and Mike decide to go against the orders and stay in Venezuela, as they seem to have some unfinished business. Meanwhile, in the jungle, Reyes’ men try to locate the American soldiers on the run.
“Black 22” (8.1)
In the third episode of season one, Hanin (Suleiman’s wife) draws a plan to escape with her children for the fear of their lives. Meanwhile, after the bombing at a house, Jack and Greer talk about missed opportunities and get a solid lead on Ali.
Suleiman is fearful that Ali cannot be caught, as that would be it for his plan. Jack, Greer, and Sandrine go on a car chase.
“French Connection” (8.3)
In the second episode of season one, Jack and Greer get one step closer to solving the “Suleiman mystery.” During a brief, Jack gives everything he has on Suleiman and they are disappointed to hear Nate’s decision. Meanwhile, Suleiman sends Ali on a mission to Paris, but little did he know that it would turn into a cat and mouse chase. Suleiman returns home to his family and Hanin begins to wonder about the dangers involved with her husband’s plans.
“End Of Honor” (8.4)
In the fifth episode of season one, Suleiman mounts a horrific attack on a church in Paris where 306 people are killed. Getting to know about his brother Ali’s situation, his men go to Chamonix. Jack and the team find a unique way to chat with Suleiman, in order to get insight into his plans, but the criminal mastermind has other ideas. Hanin tries to find ways to escape with her children, while Victor wonders what could have been. The viewers also get to see how deep the relationship between Ali and Suleiman was.
“The Wolf” (8.4)
In the fourth episode of season one, Jack, Greer, and Sandrine continue to chase Ali, but it soon turns into a bloodbath. Jack chases Ali in the woods, while Suleiman’s first attack gets a step closer to execution. After a tense situation that goes south, Jack receives a message from Cathy. He focuses on his personal life for a change and seemingly has a much-deserved good night.
The first episode of the series sets things up nicely for what’s to come and introduces a number of characters. In 1983, two boys survive a bombing in Lebanon, while Jack is shown to be working for TFAD (Terror Finance And Arms Division).
James Greer gets assigned to TFAD where he plays down a theory from Jack. But, suddenly, while Jack is at a party, a situation arises that takes Jack to Yemen. Furthermore, the viewers get a little introduction about Suleiman’s home and family.
“Sources And Methods” (8.6)
In the sixth episode of season one, Hanin gets a step closer to running away from his husband Suleiman with her children forever. Meanwhile, Jack and Greer become desperate and have to do a thing that requires immense patience. A criminal helps Jack and Greer locate Hanin so they can get some valuable information on Suleiman. Cathy gets concerned about the re-emergence of a deadly virus that was known to be extinct. In Al-Bab, Victor visits the father of a man who was killed because of him.
The final episode of season one gives the viewers an insight into what’s keeping Jack up at night as he opens up to Cathy. Suleiman, with Samir, arrives in the United States with his endgame in sight. Meanwhile, Jack and Greer step up their chase for the criminal mastermind. Cathy’s life might be in danger, while Hanin wonders where her boy might be.
“The Boy” (8.7)
In the penultimate episode of season one, Hanin and her children are taken to a safe house while Jack and Greer wait for approval to swoop in and catch Suleiman. While Suleiman gets away, Greer and Jack are able to get the hostages, but that might not be a good thing. Cathy gets questioned about a deadly virus while Suleiman and Samir get ready for one final attack that might shake the whole world.
